Cash Flow Tip: Internet Writing to Earn Money

Writing is the foundation of all communication. Opportunities are all over the Internet to write on the web. But realistically, if you're trying to supplement a current income or generate a substantial current income, can writing online provide that type of cash flow?

Even though I've been writing online for 2 years, mainly because I enjoy it, my income from writing has been meager but it's also been a learning process that I've pursued and will continue to do so.

The three sites where I submit articles on a regular basis are:

Hubpages
Associated Content
Helium

If you're going to make money from writing on them - let's say more than $ 200 a month or more - then you have to generate content that people want to read. Simple. How-to content is especially useful as are articles on bargains in travel, restaurants and more.

But you also need to generate quantity.

I saw an article on Helium that described how having 500 articles in about 2 years would generate an on-going revenue stream to earn a few hundred dollars per month.

Currently, I have 81 articles on Associated Content, around 45 on Helium and about the same on Hubpages.

I'm treating writing online to earn money as a marathon and not a sprint. There are times when I've gone weeks and weeks without posting anything new. So make sure you enjoy what you're writing.

Another way to write for money online is to create small websites on topics of interest, put up Google Adsense, ebooks visitors can download, and affiliate programs.

I created www.righttouchhome.weebly.com for free using Weebly.com and then Weebly splits any profits from Google Adsense.

Planning and patience are essential for writing online.

I can be a generalist in terms of topics I like to explore and this may dilute my becoming an expert in any one field.

However, for a business owner or individual consultant who's passionate about their work, they can write in a focused manner and they stand a good chance of earning from people who come across them in the search engines.
