Real Estate Investing and Cash Flow

Real estate investing has long been a topic of discussion for my family. I've known some efforts to meet with success and others with break even results or even losses.

So I traveled from sunny Southern California to Latrobe, Pennsylvania in March after I purchased a single family home. I'll detail the why and how of my efforts here and in the next few posts.

Why Real Estate

  1. One part of our long term portfolio

  2. Profit potential outweighs the chance of loss, if done correctly

  3. It's a tangible asset

  4. It's a flexible asset to be held short-term or long-term

  5. Investing in the area where I grew up gives me a chance to travel back and see family

  6. It was recommended by investors I trust
Real estate investing fits our cash flow and money management strategies for the next 3 - 10 years and potentially for retirement.

In the next posts, I'll begin to put in to detail how I'm going about this current purchase and investment so you can follow along and gain some tips or give some advice - whether to me or others.
