Marketing a Growing Business

Are your marketing materials working for you and do you have the corporate image you want to project? Is your business more than 3 years old? If so, you might need to look at your marketing plan and set money aside in your marketing budget to refresh your image and collateral.

Alice DiPirro of the PR Store in Pasadena, California says her "perfect customer" is one who has been in business for 3 years to 6 years and needs to update their logo, letterhead, website and all marketing collateral.

As a graphic artist, she was limited in the help she could offer her customers but now she offers a full range of marketing resources.

Here's one way I test myself to see if my materials are working for me:

listen to yourself on the phone or in conversations when you talk about your business or organization.

Then look at your brochure, web site or even your business card? Do the words and image reflect what you say?

Take notes of what you say to others and then go back to read what you have in your collateral. If they don't match and you see a new trend developing, then it's time to update your marketing materials.

Hi Don...

Marketing is like the backbone of everything that has got to do with a business. Without marketing, who would ever know the existence of your business?

Very good tips on how to market a growing business. To add on, marketing materials and tools are things that a business owner should constantly review and revise. Just relying on the same marketing tool over and over again would not make your business progress further. Business owners, as u mentioned in your post, should be aware of the new trends in marketing, and then take into account some of the new marketing tools that can be included in their marketing plans.
