Jet Blue Airlines - They Blog!

I was on Twitter (I wasn't aware of it until today) and I saw the blog for Jet Blue airlines. Whoever writes their blog has a nice conversational voice and it seems they use it for promotional purposes.

I was trying to check out the page of John Clark, Life to Success. This is the first example I've seen of a corporation using social networking sites outside of MySpace.

Are you aware of any?

Author and blogger Jeremy Wright advises corporations to use blogs as a way of reaching out to customers and valuing their feedback. I recommend reading his book "Blog Marketing."

I think more airlines need to use blogs as a way of interacting with customers, especially with all the complaints and inconveniences have regarding air travel today.

Any company that is not using social networking to keep in touch will go to the wayside.

This type of communication is going to be the main source of communication.

It has made the world a much smaller place.

I don't know if they'll really go "by the wayside" but they will miss out on a chance to hear from their customers or hear what people are really thinking about their industry.

They should use social networking to hear back from customers and not just promote sales, products and services. Otherwise, it's just another form of advertising - albeit, lower cost.
